There’s nothing like a beach in the morning light. An early Spring Saturday morning, I joined a group of photographers and a talented group of models at Turimetta Beach lookout in Narrabeen for a morning of shooting authentic images, anywhere. The morning was curated by Oliver (@ofoliver), Australian image maker, and guided by Nic @nickjamesfraser who shared his approach and kept us thinking about light, direction and real moments rather than forced poses. It was a great experience to be shooting at a beach instead on my usual country vibe! Our talented model, @maki.lesko, wore natural linen in soft, earthy tones. It’s a simple, relaxed look that suits the Australian coast: bright sand, salt air and sunlight doing most of the work. It was a good reminder that great portraits don’t depend on the location. A beach, a paddock or a poplar forest, the same things matter: good light, someone who feels relaxed and the time to let the moment happen. Thank you to Nic for guiding the morning, to @maki.lesko for modelling, to @georgescameras and to everyone who made it such a lovely start to the day. If you’d like portraits that feel this natural, my sessions can take place on my private rural property near Wisemans Ferry or or suggestion.
